What do I need to know about your Los Angeles Studio? |
| A: |
The Los Angeles
studio is located at 2906 Denby Avenue, in Los Angeles. The
location is a 4,000 square foot industrial building in the Los Feliz
District. The studio features a 20 foot by 24 foot cyclorama
which is fully capable of being used for fashion, glamour or
shooting a car. You will recognize the cyc as the one we had
in our Cypress facility. It has been expanded to allow for
larger subjects.
The studio also has several full grip, lighting packages. We
have a wide variety of different lighting packages as well as
modifiers, booms and more. We also put together different sets
for the events to provide variety. There is even a fenced yard
with privacy curtains so we are able to shoot outdoors as well as
indoors. We share the studio with other
photographers who operate it when we are up in Nor. Cal. The
studio is available for rental. |

| Q: |
What do I need to know about DM-Gremln's Studio? |
| A: |
As many
of you know, Gremlin and I were friends for many years. While
he is no longer with us, Wendy Levin has decided to carry
on the tradition. I have put in a great deal of effort helping
Wendy turn the place into a viable place for photography. We
have taken out some walls and re-configured the facility so that
there are two, separate studios plus a wonderful outdoor shooting
yard. The yard features some incredible, hand painted murals
which you may shoot against.
Each studio is equipped with three Alien Bee strobes along with an
assortment of modifiers. The front studio (Studio B) is an an
open, raw space that we can configure for just about any photography
scenario you can imagine. While the studio is smaller, it will
handle groups of ten to twelve photographers when we have three sets
operating. Now that both studios are in use, it is a very
viable place.
It is also the only one of the three facilities which is fully air
conditioned. Watch for me to move most of my summer events
there from July to August every year to make our events more
comfortable on hot days.
DM-Gremlin Studios is located at 6053 Atlantic Avenue in Long Beach.
The studio is available for rent. You can go to
www.dm-gremlin.com for more information. Tell Wendy

| Q: |
Are the
lighting set-ups compatible? |
| A: |
In a
word, YES. While the various lighting packages use different
connectors and different brands of equipment, we have converted them
all so that they can be used with the standard sync cords and Pocket
Wizards we have always worked with. All you need is a sync
cord or Pocket Wizard with an "H" connector on the end of a cable.
It looks just like a household plug. If you don't have one, we
have them available for loan at no charge. The lights will
allow up to six photographers to plug into any set at the same time. |
